the Grey Space

(doesn’t have to be grey)

Urban Activity

3 million people move to cities each week and by 2050 over 66% of the World’s population will be urban. It’s therefore crucial that we look to make our grey spaces healthy and active places, with a specific emphasis on community led and empowered approaches.

Daniel is one of the nation’s leading thinkers in Urban Activity. Sitting on the Urban Sports Group in London, he also runs UK Wallball - the National Governing Body and charity designed for city sport. He has also hired the country’s first Urban Sports Development Officer in conjunction with London Sport.

Urban activity is exciting and rewarding. Obvious things include activities which are clearly visible - these include Wallball (or 1-Wall Handball), parkour, 3-on-3 basketball, skateboarding and blading, urban yoga, climbing and outdoor gyms. But we’re also incredibly interested in healthy city planning and architecture. From active travel, to air quality, to sustainable living to reducing social isolation. We can all get healthier in the grey space…and we’re going to have to!
